Company Secretary & Co-Founder

Cherie formed Fox Industrial Services Ltd along with her husband, Simon in 2003. Prior to this Cherie and Simon had previously formed and owned a number of successful businesses in the manufacturing and construction industries.

As Company Secretary, Cherie is the head of day to day running and organisation of the company leading in accounting and administration as well as managing procurement and purchasing. Cherie is a highly motivated business woman who ensures that Fox Industrial Services continues to go from strength to strength.

After attending grammar school, Simon became an apprentice at British Aerospace, then moving on to Rolls Royce Technical College. Upon completion of his studies, Simon then attended Brunell University where he attained a HNC in Mechanical Engineering. Simon then enjoyed many years working within the cold store industry for Carter Refrigeration before forming many successful construction and fabrication companies, many of which are still trading today. Simon and his wife Cherie, formed Fox Industrial Services in 2003 where he utilises his in-depth knowledge of food factory process and design, completing numerous projects for his large client base built up over the last 30 years.

Simon’s client base includes national and multi-national, cold chain and food manufacturers along with nationally recognised construction companies and QS / Architect practices.

After qualifying from Wolverhampton University in 1994 with BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying, Mark enjoyed many years as a Commercial Manager at a number of large local contractors. For the last 10 years he has carried out a Directors role at a number of Midlands based national building and facilities management companies, Mark joined Fox Construction in June 2013 and is responsible for the day to day commercial running of the business leading in pre-contract tendering and construction phase management.

Mark’s client base includes national and multi-national, industrial and commercial based businesses.

Paul Kennedy - Accounts Manager

Paul’s varied career in accounts started with 10 years with Cox Jerome Accountants then moving onto over 20 years working with the team at Warwickshire County Cricket Club. Paul was instrumental implementing the changes there, including the development of the new pavilion.

A change of career took him to Eurojet, a private airline, where he ran the accounts team for the UK office.

Paul’s wealth of experience has enabled him to adapt to a variety of systems and industries, with a positive attitude and drive to achieve business results

Helen Andrews Financial - Administrator

Financial Administrator

Having left school with various qualifications, Helen worked in a local pharmacy for 8 years prior to starting a family.

On her return to the workplace a few years later, took on the role of finance administrator within in her family owned construction road resurfacing business. Gaining valuable knowledge of the business, accounting and the construction industry over the following 16years.

Helen joined Fox Industrial Services Ltd at the beginning of the year looking for a new challenge.

Contracts Manager

Upon completion of his 5 year apprenticeship in Joinery and Shop Fitting, Martin successfully ran his own Shop Fitting company for a number of years working with and for many of the country’s leading retailers.

Since then Martin has been a leader in the Contracts world utilising over 20 years experience in the role and achieving NVQ 4 Site Management and IOSH Level 3 along the way. Martin runs some of Fox’s largest projects as he couples Health & Safety, man management, client requirement and cost evaluation with professionalism and attention to detail.

After leaving Prince Henry’s School and qualifying from Keele University with BSc (Hons) in Mathematics, Mark worked for some 25 years as a buyer in various divisions of the construction industry from Shop fitters & General Building contractors to Plumbing & Heating suppliers.

Mark joined Fox Construction Group’s Commercial Team in October 2015 where he has introduced a supplier and subcontractor matrix resulting in stronger buying techniques and streamline of purchasing overall which ensures efficient delivery of end product resulting in a reduction in lost man days and in turn better client value for money.

After attending grammar school, Heather graduated from Solihull College with C&G Secretarial Services Level 3, Business Administration Level 3 and Customer Service Level 3.

Heather has worked for some of the largest bluechip and construction companies in the country bringing with her an array of experience in administrative procedures. As well as supporting the finance and estimating departments, Heather also assists with procurement of labour and materials is also the primary point of contact on reception.

Dan Lane - Quantity Surveyor

Prior to leaving his home town in Mid-Wales in 2013, Dan worked for a successful family-run construction company where he gained Quantity Surveying experience and good knowledge of the industry by working on many residential and commercial projects.

He developed his skills further at a multi-national manufacturing company based in Birmingham where he achieved a wealth of expertise in both cost management and financial reporting along with completing multiple qualifications in system software management and report design.

At Fox, Dan combines his knowledge and experience to ensure each project can be efficiently and accurately cost-controlled, for both the client and the company's benefit.

Brian Youl - Health and Safety Manager

Health & Safety Manager

Brian is an experienced well qualified health and safety practitioner, with 25+ years in Health, Safety and Environmental management, having spent his whole career in or associated with the major construction industry. His experience encompasses Construction / Civils / Utilities / M&E Building Services with projects ranging from £100k to £50m in value.

Reporting to the Senior Management Team, he manages the SHE function for Fox Industrial Services Ltd with his primary role providing confidence and assurance from the top down in all aspects of Health, Safety and Welfare for all Fox employees, their contractors and anyone involved in their business.

In his role as H&S Manager, he says that every day is a challenge, no two days are the same, and the satisfaction comes from making a difference and everyone going home safe and sound.

Caroline Murray - Finance Administrator

After leaving school, Caroline went to work for an extrusion company in their drawing office as an administrators following which she took a break from work to bring-up her children.

In the late 90s Caroline attended Redditch College, qualifying with an NVQ Level 2 in Business Adminstration, an NVQ Level 2 in Finance and a Diploma in IT and went on to work in the travel industry as an Office Manager.

Caroline joined Fox in September 2016 as a Finance Administrator which is a new direction for her and she now has responsibility with the day-to-day contact with suppliers, both by telephone and incoming invoices.

Martin Hollingworth - Quantity Surveyor

Martin is an Estimator/Quantity Surveyor with nearly 30 years experience within the Construction Industry. He has worked within a variety of Commercial sectors including Logisitics, Food, Pharmaceutical, Education, Leisure, Retail, and a wide variety of New Build, Re-furbishment and Fit out projects either on a traditional or Design & Build basis. This has taken Martin all over the UK and has developed a solid relationship with Clients, Consultants and Supply Chain Partners

In his own time he enjoys a round of golf (or 2!) followed by some Real Ale, competes in the Birmingham Snooker Leagues, is proud of his garden and dog walking and is considering purchasing a “colony” of Bees next year!

James Cole - Quantity Surveyor

As a construction specialist, James has worked in most areas of the commercial function, after graduating as a Quantity Surveyor from Wolverhampton University. His last few positions have been at a senior level helping to structure the commercial aspects of the business. Bringing a wealth of experience to Fox he is a stickler for detail and ensures that the estimating, quantity surveying and purchasing elements of the business are managed and have a customer service orientated bias whilst maintaining a commercial edge.

James says: “The ‘team’ approach is very much a key part of our approach at Fox which provides a strong morale amongst my colleagues and a high customer service ethos for our many clients. A desire to succeed and be the best is not only driven from the top, but throughout the business.”
